TruffleBEECH wins Design Award

German Design Award 2016 for TruffleBEECH

TruffleBEECH veneers with its strong structure and marble-like look convinced the jury of the German Design Award 2016. The German Design Award is the top international prize of the German Design Council. Its goal: to discover, present and honour unique design trends. Therefore, every year, top-quality entries from product and communication design are rewarded, all of which are in their own way ground-breaking in the international design landscape.

Launched in 2012, the German Design Award is one of the most wellrespected design competitions in the world and is held in high regard well beyond professional circles. New techniques with fungi create patterns and discolorations in the wood on the entire length of the trunk and allow slicing the logs into 0.6mm thin veneers. These are used for furniture, kitchens and interior building providing a beautiful and lively contrast to other materials. TruffleBEECH veneers are a warm, lively and authentic contrast to many other materials like stone, metal and glass. TruffleBEECH veneers have also won the interzum award 2015. Wood for connoisseurs and the result of an exemplary cooperation of nature and the latest technologies!
