A family story of tradition and innovation
Mehling & Wiesmann has been a family-run veneer and sawmill in the heart of the Spessart region for generations. We buy our wood from local forests from sustainable forestry, produce locally and keep a close eye on trends in the construction and furniture industry. We respond to this with a wide variety of wood finishing techniques. We have made a name for ourselves worldwide with brands such as chocowood and TrüffelBUCHE.
BECAUSE IT‘S
WORTH IT FOR US …
… we personally select the best local woods.
… we produce locally in the middle of the beautiful Spessart.
… we employ people from the region who have always known how to work with wood.
… we always have the courage to invest in the most beautiful natural product and extraordinary processing techniques.
… together with our family and employees, we are committed to a successful future.
SINCE GENERATIONS,
for generations
We love our work with this unique and versatile raw material. We examine every single trunk personally. Because every tree tells us its very own story, which can often be hundreds of years old. We consciously select the optimal processing method for each trunk so that the story can continue for many years to come.
We are delighted when a particularly beautiful specimen finds the right project. For example, when the story of a particularly mild, light-colored Spessart oak is continued as a family table in a private home, as a reception desk in a Berlin museum or in a store in Hong Kong and people enjoy it.
First-class wood for
long-lasting projects
Out of conviction, we work 100 percent with a natural product, including all its nooks and crannies. Because that‘s what makes working with wood so special. We cannot and will not rest on our laurels when it comes to standard solutions, we never tire of showing the beauty, vitality and uniqueness of each log and offering our customers genuine specialties.
This requires a great deal of commitment and patience from our 48 employees on a daily basis – but it is worth it.
