As a sawmill and veneer plant with a long tradition, we know: every tree is unique. That’s why we get the very best out of every log. We stand for the highest quality in veneer and sawn timber production – and for refining processes that reveal the special character of the wood.
Our philosophy: sustainable business practices through maximum material efficiency, meticulous processing, and consistently high product quality. This is our contribution to the responsible use of the raw material wood.

Careful Selection

Our logs come exclusively from sustainable forestry. Through individual selection of each log, we choose every tree with care – and use it in its entirety. This selective approach maintains forest stability, encourages natural regeneration, and protects biodiversity.
As a company certified by FSC® and PEFC™, we actively contribute to preserving these valuable ecosystems.

Economically Sustainable

With Local Impact

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond the product itself. In sourcing our logs, we also play a key role in protecting local forests: high-quality veneer logs generate strong returns for forest owners and forestry operations. Mehling & Wiesmann returns around 4 million euros annually to the forest – for care, reforestation, and near-natural forest development.
This creates a cycle that meaningfully connects ecological and economic interests – and ensures the long-term health of the forest.
