We smoke all domestic woods containing tannic acid with ammonia. Veneers of all thicknesses and sawn timber up to a thickness of 65 mm are core-smoked in our specially developed facilities and dried using vacuum technology.

With their dark, earthy tones, smoked woods are an ecologically friendly alternative to tropical wood.

It is not the duration of the treatment that determines the color intensity, but the tannic acid content of the wood, which causes a variety of brown tones from light to dark.

The long and therefore costly process of post-drying under vacuum is necessary to achieve an odorless product as well as a residual moisture content of less than 13% (a special measuring device is required to measure this). Our brand “chocowood” stands for this unique quality. We have one of the largest stocks of smoked wood in the world with over 35 grades and can therefore respond to everyone‘s wishes.

We are also happy to accept veneers and sawn timber for contract smoking.
